Sweater with raglan sleeves

 I love simple projects, so here is one I did recently.  When you are working with sweater fabrics it is best if you have a serger.

 this fabric is stretchy so
 1- I pinned the edges together and matched the stripes. If you do not have a serger, then be sure to finish the seams with zig zag or another stitch
2-Lay the folded existing sweater on paper (I use news print paper and trace it making it larger and with longer sleeves if you wish.

 

 

4- I layed the pattern paper on the fabric. 

Wow, it barely fit.  We bought 1 1/2 yards (Black Friday sale)

5-cut it out

6-sew the seams

7-Serg the edges

8-turn the edges in and hem.
