Fleece PJs

Winter is a great time to give the gift of warmth.
These Pajama bottoms are made of fleece with a matching drawstring bag for the "sleepovers".  The pajamas are made from an old  pattern.  I put elastic in the waist and then added a length of ribbon about 12" on each side to tie in a bow.  This way the waist will be very adjustable plus decorative.

The bag is just a 12 1/2 " square of fabric with an oval for the bottom that is 10" in length and 5 1/4 " across.  Sew up the sides, insert the oval.  I reinforced the bottom seam with my overcast stitch on my regular machine because fleece might stretch and pop a stitch. I turned over the edge.  You don't need to turn it again because fleece will not fray.  I left an opening on each side near the top to insert the ribbon for ties. Insert one ribbon on each side going in and coming out on the same end.  Then repeat.  Then I tied a circle of ribbon on each end of that so that the ribbon would not get lost in the casing.  Or you can just use a very long ribbon that is several (10 or more)  inches longer than your bag is around.

  1. You know what else would be cute, is pairing the pajama bottoms with a matching fleece blanket...I think I would live in pajamas if I could. :)
