I love making cards and Valentine's are a special treat. Those who get them always feel the love!
I like to choose my envelope before I decide on the size of my card if I don't plan on making a special one.
I wanted some designed red paper and got that by stamping plain red paper with this "cabbage rose" stamp. I like it because it has a lot of solid surface on it. I relied on my computer to come up with just the right size of greeting "Happy Valentine's Day" glued it all together with a little foam underneath to give it dimension. That always helps. I love the dark red and the deep brown together and I aged the cream colored paper with a sponge and brown ink pad. Just brush the edges with the sponge after swiping it on the ink pad.
I added a bow of ribbon which is really a strip cut from floral fabric that came on a bouquet. The heart stamp is embellished with a rhinestone.
Inside I put another rectangle of "aged cream" paper and stamped my message. You could find a poem on the computer too.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
